Cannon Cart is a 5-Elixir Epic ground troop that rolls out with heavy hitpoints, a normal-speed cannon attack, and an unusually fast opening shot. Once its health drops to half, it sheds its wheels and plants down as a short-lived stationary cannon (reclassified as a building) that keeps firing for 15 seconds before self-destructing.
Cannon Cart costs 5 Elixir and arrives with 1,809 hitpoints, hitting for 212 damage every 0.9 seconds (235 damage per second) out to a solid 5.5 range. Its first shot fires in just 0.5 seconds instead of the usual 0.9, so it can land an early hit before most defenders react. It rolls in at Medium speed, deploys in 1 second, and only targets a single ground target at a time.
Once Cannon Cart's health drops to half, its wheels break off and it plants down as a stationary defensive building instead of a mobile troop. It keeps the exact same attack — 212 damage every 0.9 seconds at 5.5 range — but only sticks around for 15 seconds before it self-destructs, draining roughly 60 of its own hitpoints every second during that countdown on top of any damage it takes in combat.
Because the broken, stationary form of Cannon Cart counts as a building rather than a troop, it can pull building-targeting troops like Golem, Giant, or Royal Giant onto itself if one happens to be nearby when the wheels come off. That said, the timing of the transformation is hard to control on purpose, so it isn't a reliable way to redirect an enemy tank away from the tower.
Cannon Cart used to run on two separate health bars — a shield that had to be broken before its true hitpoints even started taking damage. A May 2025 rework scrapped that shield entirely and merged it into one combined hitpoint pool, so a single big hit can now chip straight into its real health instead of being wasted on a shield, while its total hitpoints as a rolling troop rose about 5%, from 1,648 to 1,730, to help offset the change.
A month after losing its shield, Cannon Cart turned out to be noticeably weaker overall, so in June 2025 Supercell raised its hitpoints again, from 1,730 to 1,809 — the total it still carries into battle today.
In August 2024, Cannon Cart's attack got 10% faster, with its hit speed cut from 1 second down to 0.9 seconds — bringing its rolling form's rate of fire in line with its broken, stationary form and giving the long-underused card a real push toward viability.
Cannon Cart used to roll in at Fast speed. A 2021 balance pass slowed it down to Medium, giving defenders a wider window to react and block it at the bridge before it can lock onto a tower — the speed it still moves at today.
Cannon Cart has been part of Clash Royale since 5 August 2017, launching as an Epic troop card.
