Verified 2026-08-17Figures below use Level 11, Clash Royale's tournament standard, regardless of the level selected above.
Goblin Curse is a 2-Elixir Epic spell that afflicts every enemy troop and building in a 3-tile radius with a 6-second curse, dealing repeated damage over that time and, as of August 2026, slowing everything caught inside. Any enemy troop that dies while still marked by the curse is replaced by a friendly Goblin fighting for whoever cast the spell, turning what looks like a small chip-damage spell into a source of extra units and board presence.
Goblin Curse is a 2-Elixir Epic spell that curses enemy troops and buildings inside a 3-tile radius for 6 seconds, and it can hit air units just as easily as ground ones.
At tournament standard (level 11), the curse ticks once per second for 35 damage against troops — up to 210 total if a target stays cursed for the full 6 seconds — while a Crown Tower caught in the same radius takes a reduced 10 damage per tick, 60 total. Buildings and towers only take this tick damage; they're never turned into Goblins the way troops are.
Each Goblin spawned this way arrives with 202 hitpoints and hits for 120 damage every 1.1 seconds (about 109 damage per second), and its first swing lands in just 0.4 seconds instead of the usual 1.1, letting it get an early hit in on whatever's nearby right after it spawns. It moves at Very Fast speed but only fights at melee range against ground targets — unlike the curse itself, which can also catch air units before it kills them.
Any enemy troop that's destroyed while still marked by the curse doesn't just die — it's replaced by a friendly Goblin that fights on the side of whoever cast the spell.
Since Supercell's August 2026 balance update, everything caught inside the cursed zone is also slowed by 15%, similar to how Poison slows enemies standing in it — making it much harder for fast troops to sprint out of the radius before the curse, and its Goblin transformation, catches up to them.
Goblin Curse launched on 17 June 2024 with a large 4-tile radius and a 35% damage amplification effect on everything it touched, and players quickly paired it with Rage and Zap to blow up entire pushes at the bridge. Supercell cut the radius to 3 tiles and the damage amplification to 20% just two weeks later to curb that dominance.
In the September 2025 balance update, Supercell removed Goblin Curse's damage amplification effect entirely and raised its own damage-over-time output instead — from 30 to 35 damage per tick against troops and from 6 to 10 per tick against Crown Towers — repositioning it from a damage-boosting utility spell into a dedicated anti-swarm tool.
Goblin Curse's curse effect can coexist with Mother Witch's curse on the same enemy troop, since the two come from different cards and don't cancel each other out. Exactly what happens if that troop dies while marked by both at once — whether it spawns a friendly Goblin and a Hog together, or just one or the other — isn't clearly confirmed; community sources disagree on the specifics.
