Mechanics verified against Season 86 (August 2026)Figures below use Level 11, Clash Royale's tournament standard, regardless of the level selected above.
Princess is a 3-elixir Legendary troop — a single, very fragile archer who lobs a slow arcing volley of flaming arrows out to 9 tiles, the longest attack range of any troop in Clash Royale. Every shot deals area damage in a 2-tile radius and hits air as well as ground, and because 9 tiles beats the 7.5-tile reach of every Crown Tower troop, a Princess parked at the bridge can chip away at a tower that literally cannot shoot back. The trade-off is that she is made of paper — 261 hitpoints at tournament standard — and fires only once every 3 seconds, so she is a support and chip-damage unit rather than a solo defender against anything but swarms. Her Evolution, added in June 2026, swaps the flaming arrows for icy ones. It leaves her combat stats alone and instead bolts on crowd control: periodically her arrow slows everything caught in the blast, and when she is defeated she drops her arrows and leaves a patch of ice behind. An August 2026 balance update made that slow fire more often — every other shot instead of every third — while cutting how long each one lasts.
Princess is a 3-elixir Legendary troop who fires an arcing volley of arrows out to 9 tiles — the longest attack range of any troop in Clash Royale — dealing area damage in a 2-tile radius to both air and ground targets. She unlocks in Electro Valley.
That 9-tile reach is a full 1.5 tiles further than any Crown Tower can shoot back, which makes Princess the only troop in the game able to stand safely outside a tower's range and grind it down — in theory she can take a match three crowns to nothing entirely on her own.
She is a chip-and-splash unit rather than a damage dealer: one volley every 3 seconds for 168 area damage at tournament standard (level 11) is only 56 damage per second, so she loses a straight duel to almost anything that isn't a swarm.
A March 2025 rework deliberately traded her opening speed against her setup speed: her deploy time went up from 1.0 to 1.2 seconds while her first shot got 40% faster, arriving 0.3 seconds after she is ready instead of 0.5. Supercell's stated aim was to make a Princess dropped at the bridge easier to catch on a laggy connection, while quietly buffing what she does on defence.
Her 261 hitpoints at tournament standard sit right on the edge of the game's most common spell breakpoint. The Log deals 266, so it kills her at matched levels with under 2% of margin to spare — while Zap's 192 leaves her standing on roughly a quarter of her health.
Princess launched on 29 February 2016, two days before Clash Royale's worldwide release, as one of the game's first two Legendary cards alongside Ice Wizard — and she has been trimmed steadily since: her range dropped from 9.5 to 9 tiles in May 2016 when a range bug was fixed, her splash radius shrank from 2.5 to 2 tiles that August, and her arrows were sped up twice, from 400 to 450 in 2016 and again to 600 in 2019.
EvolutionPrincess received an Evolution in June 2026 that swaps her flaming arrows for icy ones. Her first shot after deploying, and periodically after that, fires an arrow that slows everything caught in the blast — and when she is defeated she drops her arrows, leaving a patch of ice behind that keeps slowing troops that walk through it.
Evolutionthe icy arrow slows enemy movement and attack speed by 30% inside a 3-tile radius — the same slow strength an Ice Wizard applies, except delivered as a burst from nine tiles away. A 4 August 2026 update then made it fire on every other shot instead of every third, and shortened each slow from 7 seconds to 5.5.
Evolutionshe needs two cycles through your hand before the evolved version comes out, and six Evolution Shards to unlock in the first place. Supercell handed her no raw stat increase at all — the evolved Princess carries the same hitpoints, damage, hit speed and range as the ordinary card, so everything she gains is in the ice.

Princess also appears as a troop in Clash Royale's Merge Tactics mode, bought from the shop and merged for star upgrades rather than cycled through a deck.
