Verified 2026-08-19Figures below use Level 11, Clash Royale's tournament standard, regardless of the level selected above.
Rune Giant is a 4-Elixir Epic troop that lumbers toward the enemy's buildings while empowering the troops around her. She isn't much of a hitter herself — her real value comes from the enchantment she casts on up to two nearby allies, giving them a damage spike on every third attack they land. Since her release in January 2025, Supercell has repeatedly tuned how that enchantment interacts with other cards, and an August 2026 rework made her cast the enchantment instantly and boosted her hitpoints, while stopping her from wasting the buff on troops that are designed to blow themselves up on contact.
At the tournament-standard level 11, Rune Giant has 2,816 hitpoints — up from her original 2,662 after an August 2026 balance update raised her health by about 6%.
She hits for 120 damage per swing at level 11, landing a blow every 1.5 seconds (about 80 damage per second) — but her first swing lands fast, only 0.5 seconds after she plants herself, so she can tag whatever she reaches first before her normal rhythm kicks in.
Her real weapon is the enchantment she casts on the two closest allied troops within 8.5 tiles: every third attack those troops land, they deal an extra 220 damage on top of their normal hit.
If Rune Giant is killed, her active enchantments don't vanish right away — enchanted troops keep the bonus for another 5 seconds, a change Supercell made specifically because she was too often dying before her buffs paid off.
That same March 2025 patch also cut Rune Giant's hitpoints by 11%, from 2,803 down to 2,508 — a straightforward power-level reduction alongside the enchantment-duration cap.
Against troops that fire multiple projectiles per attack, like Firecracker or Hunter, the enchant bonus is split across those projectiles instead of applying in full to each one — otherwise those cards would deal excessive burst damage on their buffed third attack. Troops that ride along with another unit, like Ram Rider's rider or Goblin Giant's Spear Goblins, don't get the enchant bonus at all.
An August 2026 rework made her enchant instantly instead of pausing to cast it, and she now keeps moving while enchanting nearby troops instead of stopping in place. She also no longer wastes her enchantment on troops built to blow themselves up on contact, like Wall Breakers or Spirits.
Rune Giant is a 4-Elixir Epic troop that unlocks in the Jungle Arena and heads straight for enemy buildings rather than other troops. She first joined Clash Royale on 6 January 2025.
Because Rune Giant herself hits fairly softly, the real threat is whatever she's empowering — the standard way to shut her push down is to kill her support troops (things like Hunter, Firecracker, or Dart Goblin) before they land their buffed third attack, leaving Rune Giant as a slow, low-damage tank that's easy to ignore or mop up.
