Valkyrie

Valkyrie is a 4-Elixir Rare troop who fights on the ground with a spinning axe attack that hits every enemy around her, not just the unit directly in front. She has solid hit points for her cost and swings almost the instant she lands, so she rarely gets caught out during deployment. Her all-around splash damage makes her one of the best answers to swarms of cheap troops, though she has no ranged attack and can be kited or picked off by ranged units if left unsupported. Her Evolution adds a pulling Whirlwind effect that drags nearby troops toward her on her first two hits, and an August 2026 Pass Royale Hero version lets her dash between enemies while continuously spinning her axe.

• Valkyrie is a 4-Elixir Rare troop that fights only on the ground, swinging her axe in a full circle to hit every enemy around her rather than just one target in front of her.

• At tournament standard (level 11), Valkyrie has 1,907 hit points and deals 266 area damage per swing, attacking roughly every 1.5 seconds for about 177 damage per second.

• She strikes unusually fast for a melee troop: her first swing lands just 0.1 seconds after she's deployed, so she starts fighting almost the instant she touches down, leaving very little window for an enemy to land a free hit first.

• Valkyrie has been in Clash Royale since the game's earliest days — she launched on 4 January 2016 as part of a limited regional soft-launch (iOS only, in a handful of countries including Canada and Australia), roughly two months before the game's full worldwide release on 2 March 2016.

• Because her spin hits everything around her at once, Valkyrie is one of the most reliable answers to cheap swarm troops like Skeleton Army, Goblin Gang, or Guards — but she has no ranged attack of her own, so she can be kited or worn down by archers and other ranged units if she isn't paired with support.

• EvolutionHer Evolved form adds a pulling Whirlwind to her first two hits after deployment — each of those attacks drags nearby ground and air troops in toward her before her axe connects, making it much harder for enemies to spread out around her.

• EvolutionIn Supercell's August 2026 balance patch, the Evolved Valkyrie's tornado-pull damage was cut in half — from 84 down to 42 — specifically to reduce how much defensive value she gets from pulling and hitting several enemies at once.

• HeroAn August 2026 Pass Royale-exclusive Hero Valkyrie was added this season. Her 3-Elixir "Wild Whirlwind" ability lets her speed up and continuously spin her axe through nearby enemies for a few seconds — she keeps attacking (and can still be hit and defeated) the whole time, and if she runs out of nearby targets to dash toward, she just keeps spinning in place until the ability ends.
