Vines is a 3-Elixir Epic spell that entangles the three highest-hitpoint troops or buildings inside its 2.5-tile radius, rooting them in place and dealing damage for about 2 seconds. Airborne units get yanked to the ground and can't attack while snared, which makes Vines a strong way to stall a heavy tank or punish a clumped push while your own troops get free hits in. Because it only grabs the three toughest units in range, Vines is noticeably weaker against cheap, spread-out swarms that slip past its target cap. It also isn't the instant-reaction card it was at launch — a 2026 balance change slowed its deploy time considerably, and a later pass trimmed how much tower chip damage it deals.
Vines is a 3-Elixir Epic spell first unlockable in the Frozen Peak arena, and it targets both air and ground units.
When it lands, Vines snares the three highest-hitpoint troops or buildings within its blast radius, holding them in place for roughly two seconds and dragging any airborne targets down to the ground so they can't attack while trapped.
At tournament level 11, Vines deals about 134 damage per second to entangled troops or buildings while they stay snared — Supercell's own emergency September 2025 nerf set this figure directly, cutting it down from an original 162.
Vines chips considerably less off enemy Crown Towers than it does to troops — 78 total damage at level 11, versus 306 to entangled units.
Vines only grabs the three toughest units in its radius, so cheap, spread-out swarm troops can walk through largely unaffected — a key counter-play against it.
Vines had a rocky launch: a maintenance-window bug briefly leaked it into live matches on August 14, 2025, weeks ahead of its official September 1, 2025 debut, and it was disabled in Ranked for a period to keep things fair for players who didn't get early access.
Just days after its official release, Vines was hit with a rare emergency balance nerf on September 5, 2025 that cut its damage per second by about 17% (from 162 to 134) because it had become one of the most dominant cards in the game.
EvolutionNo Evolution form of Vines exists as of this writing — Vines currently ships only as a base card.
