Figures below use Level 11, Clash Royale's tournament standard, regardless of the level selected above.

Ram Rider is a 5-elixir Legendary troop that is really two attackers stacked into one unit. The ram underneath is a melee, building-only battering ram: once it has covered 2.5 tiles it breaks into a charge at double its normal movement speed, and a charge that lands on a building hits for roughly twice the usual damage. The woman riding it fires bolas up to 5.5 tiles at enemy troops in the air and on the ground, and never at buildings at all, snaring whatever she hits and cutting its movement speed by 70% for two seconds. The two share a single health pool, so there is no second unit to clean up afterwards: destroy the ram and the Rider goes with it. That snare is why she turns up on defense as often as offense, since it can leave a Golem, a P.E.K.K.A. or an enemy win condition crawling while a Crown Tower chips it down. It has been walked back a long way, though. At release it stopped targets dead, and two nerfs took it to 85% and then to today's 70%. Two 2026 balance updates have pushed in the other direction: January sped the ram's attack up from one hit every 1.8 seconds to one every 1.7, and July added 4% to her hitpoints, both aimed at getting her connecting to towers again after years of losing her deck slot to Hog Rider.

  • Ram Rider is two attackers in one 5-elixir Legendary card: the ram is a melee unit that only ever attacks buildings, while the woman on its back throws bolas up to 5.5 tiles at air and ground troops and never touches buildings. They share one health pool, so killing the ram takes the Rider with it, and the Rider is the only unit in Clash Royale that can attack troops but not buildings.

  • Once she has covered 2.5 tiles of ground the ram breaks into a charge, doubling her movement speed from Medium (60) to Very Fast (120), and a charge that connects with a building hits for 501 damage at tournament standard instead of the usual 250. How far she has to travel before that triggers has been retuned four separate times since its original 3.5 tiles: down to 3, then 1.5, back up to 2, and 2.5 since October 2025.

  • The Rider's bolas snare whatever they hit, cutting its movement speed by 70% for two seconds. It is a slow and nothing more - it does not stun, does not slow attack speed, and does not stop the target attacking - so a snared Sparky or Inferno Dragon still fires at full rate, and ranged defenders that stun or knock back, like Electro Wizard, stay among her hardest counters.

  • The snare used to be far nastier. At release it stopped a target's movement outright; an April 2019 balance update cut it to an 85% slow, and an April 2022 update brought it down to today's 70%. A separate February 2022 change stopped it slowing how quickly the Witch and Night Witch summon their own troops.

  • A January 2026 balance update sped the ram's attack up from one hit every 1.8 seconds to one every 1.7, about 6% faster. With its 250 damage per hit at tournament standard that lifts the ram to roughly 147 damage per second, up from about 139. The Rider's own bola attack was left alone and still fires every 1.1 seconds.

  • Her hitpoints went up 4% in July 2026, from 1,697 to 1,766 at tournament standard - a small buff Supercell framed as helping her connect with Crown Towers more often, after being edged out by other Ram- and Rider-type cards in most meta decks.

  • She spreads her snare rather than finishing kills: given a choice of targets, the Rider throws her next bola at a troop that is not snared yet in preference to one that already is, even when the snared one is nearly dead.

  • She is one of a small group of troops that can leap the river instead of walking the bridge, and the usual advice is to drop her about two tiles to the side of the bridge rather than on it: she jumps, reaches the tower sooner, and lands further from any building waiting to pull her. Her sight range is also shorter than Hog Rider's, so an Elixir Collector parked in front of the King's Tower will not distract her.

  • Ram Rider was released on 24 December 2018, though players could win her a few days early through the Ram Rider Draft Challenge that started on 21 December by reaching 10 wins. She originally unlocked in Hog Mountain; an October 2022 update moved her to Electro Valley, where she is unlocked today.

Ram Rider also appears as a troop in Clash Royale's Merge Tactics mode, bought from the shop and merged for star upgrades rather than cycled through a deck.
