What Battle Insights does

Battle Insights is a CrownLab tool by CrownStats that analyses a Clash Royale player's recent 1v1 battles and reports the measurable patterns behind their results — form, streaks, deck usage, difficult opponent cards and archetypes, and card-level disadvantage.

Battle Insights reads the recent battle log the Clash Royale API returns for a linked player and runs it through a fixed set of statistical checks. The output is a short list of signals — each a pattern CrownStats actually found in those battles, with the numbers, the sample size and a confidence label attached.

It describes what happened in the analysed games; it is not a verdict on skill. CrownStats cannot see placement, timing, prediction or elixir decisions inside a battle, so every signal is framed as a pattern worth a closer look, not a proven cause.

What Battle Insights analyses

  • Your recent 1v1 win/loss/draw record and streaks
  • Which decks you used recently, and how each one performed
  • Specific opponent cards and deck archetypes you had a low win rate against
  • Your card levels vs. your opponent's, in battles where both are known
  • How much of your data comes from your single most-used deck vs. everything else

How CrownStats generates Battle Insights signals

Only genuine 1v1 battles in which CrownStats can identify the player on one side are analysed; team battles and unidentifiable battles are excluded and counted. Each signal below fires only when its own rule is met, and every rule is a fixed threshold — the same for every player.

  • Recent Low Form — at least 10 battles analysed and a win rate below 45%.
  • Losing Streak — a run of 3 or more consecutive losses within the sample.
  • Frequent Deck Switching — 8 or more battles spread across 3 or more distinct decks, with the most-used deck under 60% of them.
  • Main Deck Outperforming or Underperforming — the most-used deck's win rate against all other decks combined, once each side has at least 4 battles, on a gap of 15 percentage points or more.
  • Difficult Opponent Card — a card faced at least 3 times with a win rate at or below 35% against decks containing it.
  • Difficult Opponent Archetype — an archetype faced at least 2 times with a win rate at or below 35%.
  • Card-Level Disadvantage — at least 5 battles with comparable card-level data, and an average level disadvantage in 30% or more of them.
  • Signals are ordered by severity, then by sample size, and capped at 5. Below 5 analysable 1v1 battles, Battle Insights reports "not enough data" rather than a partial analysis.

Key terms

Signal
One named pattern Battle Insights found, with a severity (low, moderate or high) describing how much attention it deserves and a confidence label describing the sample behind it.
Confidence (evidence strength)
A sample-size label — low, moderate or stronger — attached to each signal. It describes how many battles the pattern rests on, not how certain CrownStats is that the pattern explains your results.
Main deck
The exact eight-card deck used most often in the analysed battles. Main Deck Share is the percentage of analysed battles played with it.
Archetype
CrownStats' classification of an eight-card deck into a named style — Hog Cycle, Log Bait, LavaLoon and so on — based on its win condition and supporting cards, using the same rules as CrownStats' deck pages.
Level pressure
In battles where both decks' card levels are known, whether your average card level was below your opponent's — reported as a share of those comparable battles.
Comparable battle
A 1v1 battle in which both players' full decks and card levels were available, so a level comparison is possible.

What Battle Insights cannot see

  • Card placement, timing, or elixir decisions inside a battle — a card played one tile differently or half a second earlier can decide a match, and none of that is visible here
  • 2v2 or other team battles — only genuine 1v1s where CrownStats can identify you on one side are analysed
  • Anything beyond your live recent battle log — there's no permanent history, so a signal can appear, shift, or vanish as older battles roll off
  • Why a pattern exists — a signal says a pattern showed up in your data, not that it's the confirmed reason you won or lost

Sample size and evidence

Battle Insights needs at least 5 analysable 1v1 battles before it reports any signal.

Every signal carries its own sample size. Confidence is low on a handful of battles, moderate on around ten and stronger on around twenty — the exact boundaries differ slightly between card, archetype and overall signals, and each signal shows the count it used.

The sample is whatever the Clash Royale API currently returns as the player's recent battle log — the most recent games, not a full season.

Where the data comes from

CrownLab reads a player's profile, current deck, card levels and recent battle log through the Official Clash Royale API. It combines them with CrownStats' own card-stat dataset (per-level damage, hitpoints and related values, kept current with balance corrections) and, where a tool uses it, CrownStats' aggregated deck statistics from the battles it has collected. Nothing is estimated from a source CrownStats does not have.

Every personal CrownLab result is computed on demand from the recent battles the Clash Royale API currently returns for that player — a recent sample, not a stored career history — so a result can change as new battles are played and older ones leave the log.

CrownLab recommendations, Crown Score and Upgrade Advisor's rankings are CrownStats' own formulas. They are not official Supercell ratings or recommendations, and they are not a measure of a player's raw skill.

The personal CrownLab tools run on the Clash Royale player tag linked to a signed-in CrownStats account. Interaction Lab needs no account and no tag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why am I losing in Clash Royale?

Battle Insights can only answer with what is measurable in your recent 1v1 battles: a low recent win rate, a losing streak, switching between many decks, a main deck that underperforms your other decks, specific opponent cards or archetypes you rarely beat, and battles played at a card-level disadvantage. Each is reported as a signal with its numbers and sample size. What it cannot tell you is anything about placement, timing or decisions inside a battle.

What does Battle Insights actually do?

It pulls your most recent battles straight from your live Clash Royale battle log and runs them through a fixed set of statistical checks — win rate, streaks, deck usage, and which opponent cards/archetypes you struggle against. Every result is a pattern CrownStats found in your real data, not a prediction or a guess.

Can CrownStats see my card placement?

No. The Clash Royale API provides battle results, decks and card levels — not in-game actions. CrownStats never sees where or when a card was played, what you predicted, or how you spent elixir, so no signal is ever about those things.

How many battles does it analyse, and why isn't there a full history?

Whatever Supercell's live battle log currently returns for your account. Clash Royale itself doesn't keep a permanent battle history, and CrownStats doesn't store one for this tool — so Battle Insights always reflects your most recent battles, not your full career, and results can shift as older battles roll off the log.

Why does it say I don't have enough data yet?

Battle Insights needs at least 5 analysable 1v1 battles before it will generate any signals. Below that, you'll just see your raw record so far instead of a half-built analysis.

What's the difference between a signal's severity and its confidence?

Severity (low/moderate/high) is how much attention the pattern deserves. Confidence (low/moderate/stronger) is purely about sample size — how many battles that specific pattern is based on. A high-severity signal built on a small sample still shows as high severity, just with a low-confidence label, so you know to weigh it accordingly.

What do "Main Deck Share" and "Other Decks" mean under Deck Usage?

Main Deck is whichever exact 8-card deck you used most often in the analysed battles. Main Deck Share is what percentage of your recent battles that deck accounts for. Other Decks groups every other deck you played into one comparison bucket, so you can see whether your go-to deck is actually outperforming your other picks.

Why don't I see a Difficult Matchup signal for a card I keep losing to?

A card only becomes a signal once you've faced it at least 3 times (2 for a full archetype) with a win rate at or below 35% against it. Facing something often but still beating it more than that doesn't qualify — the bar exists so a single unlucky game doesn't get reported as a real pattern.

What does "Level Pressure" measure?

It compares your average card level to your opponent's, in battles where both decks' levels are known, and flags it as a real pattern only once at least 5 comparable battles are available and you were at a disadvantage in 30% or more of them. It's a description of the games you played, not a claim that levels alone decided them.

Is this AI-generated?

No. Every signal comes from fixed, deterministic thresholds applied to your real battle data — the same rules for every player, every time. Nothing on this page is written or inferred by a language model.

Does this include 2v2, Clan Wars, tournament, or friendly battles?

No — only genuine 1v1 battles where CrownStats can identify you on one side are analysed. Team battles are excluded entirely, and the coverage line at the top of the page tells you exactly how many battles were excluded and why.

Why did my insights change after I hit Refresh?

Refresh re-fetches your live battle log from Supercell. Since there's no permanent history, that fresh fetch can include new battles and drop older ones that have since rolled off the log — so the same signal can appear, change, or disappear entirely between refreshes.
