What Hero Advisor does

Hero Advisor is a CrownLab tool by CrownStats that recommends which Clash Royale Hero a player should pursue next for the decks they actually play, and how the Heroes they already own fit into their current deck.

Hero Advisor answers two questions from one analysis of a player's linked Clash Royale profile. Pursue: of the Heroes you haven't unlocked yet, which one fits the decks you play best? Activate: of the Heroes you already own, how do they fit the deck you're playing today? Both answers come from the same read of your decks, and nothing is analysed until you ask.

Every recommendation is about fit with your own decks — the deck you're playing now, the decks you've saved on CrownStats and your recent battles — not a global tier list. Hero Advisor never claims a Hero is the strongest in the game, and it doesn't use popularity, usage rates or win rates. You choose which decks count, and you can exclude up to 20 Heroes you don't want recommended; an exclusion applies to Pursue only.

Activate looks only at the Heroes you already own among the cards in your current deck, and at how many Heroes that deck can run at once. It keeps a Hero setup your recent battles confirm, and it recommends activating a Hero only where CrownStats has verified a free Hero-compatible slot. When Heroes compete for the same slots it prefers a Hero that is already active, then the higher card level, so a higher level never replaces a Hero you're already using. When the answer depends on a decision only you can make — using a card as its Hero or its Evolution, or giving the Wild slot to a Hero or to an Evolution — it shows “Choice required” and leaves the choice to you.

What Hero Advisor analyses

• The cards in the player's current deck, read from the linked Clash Royale profile
• The decks the player has saved on CrownStats, when the chosen decks include them
• The player's collection: which cards they own, which Hero forms they have already unlocked, and each card's level
• Recent Trophy Road and Ranked battles from the player's battle log — which cards were played, and which cards held the deck's special slots
• CrownStats' Hero dataset: which cards currently have a Hero form, which of those also have an Evolution, and the verified facts of each Hero's ability — checked against the official card catalogue on every analysis
• How many Heroes the current deck can run at once — its Hero-compatible slots, including the Wild slot — and whether a Champion or an Evolution in the deck needs one of them

How CrownStats picks the Hero to pursue

Pursue looks at the Heroes you haven't unlocked yet whose base cards appear in the decks you chose, and compares them one step at a time, in the order below. The first step that separates two options decides; a later step only matters when every earlier one is equal. Nothing is added up or weighted, and each recommendation names the step that decided it, so the reasoning can be checked.

1. Deck fit. A Hero whose base card is in your current deck comes first; then one whose base card is in two or more of the different decks you've saved on CrownStats; then one whose base card is in one saved deck or appeared in your recent battles.
2. Deck spread. The Hero whose base card appears in more distinct deck setups among the decks you chose (a deck saved twice counts once).
3. Recent use. A Hero whose base card appeared in your recent verified Trophy Road or Ranked battles.
4. Card level. The Hero whose base card has the higher known level.
5. Current form. The option that doesn't mean changing an Evolution that is verified active on the same card.
6. If none of these steps separates the leading options — or the evidence a step needs is missing for one of them — Hero Advisor shows “No confident pick” and lists the evenly matched Heroes, in no particular order, instead of forcing a winner.

Recommendation support

How complete the evidence behind an answer is — Strong support, Moderate support or Limited support. It is not a probability or a confidence percentage.

Hero-compatible slot

A place in a deck that can hold an active Hero: the Hero slot, or the Wild slot — which a Champion or an Evolution in the same deck can also need.

Choice required

What Hero Advisor shows when the answer depends on a decision only the player can make, such as running a card as its Hero or its Evolution. The valid options are listed with none pre-selected.

No confident pick

What Hero Advisor shows when the available facts don't separate the leading options: the evenly matched Heroes, in no particular order, instead of a forced winner.

What Hero Advisor cannot see

• CrownStats has no access to a player's Hero Coins or other resources — the Clash Royale API does not expose them — so Hero Advisor recommends what fits a player's decks, never whether a Hero is affordable or how long it would take to unlock.
• It is not a tier list. Hero Advisor never ranks Heroes by strength, ability power, popularity, usage rate or win rate across the game — a recommendation says which Hero fits your decks, not which one is best for everyone.
• Recent battle evidence is the recent Trophy Road and Ranked battles the Clash Royale API returns — a sample, not a history. It shows which cards were played and which held the special slots, not how or when a Hero's ability was used.
• Saved decks are the decks you've saved on CrownStats. Decks you have only built in the game are not visible to CrownStats unless they are your current deck or appear in your recent battles.
• Hero details come from CrownStats' own Hero dataset, checked against the official card catalogue on every analysis. When a relevant Hero can't be assessed with verified data — a newly released Hero the dataset doesn't cover yet, for example — Hero Advisor says so instead of recommending around it.
• It never makes a player's choices for them: it won't pick between a card's Hero and its Evolution, won't decide whether a Hero or an Evolution takes the Wild slot, and won't suggest removing a Champion to make room for a Hero.
• It cannot see anything that happens inside a battle — placement, timing or when you use a Hero's ability — only which cards were played.

Sample size and evidence

Each answer carries its recommendation support — Strong support, Moderate support or Limited support — which describes how complete the information behind it is. It is not a probability or a confidence percentage, and it doesn't predict how your battles will go.

Hero Advisor is deterministic: the same decks, collection and battles always produce the same answers. Where the information can't support a recommendation, it says what is missing instead of filling the gap.

Where the data comes from

CrownLab reads a player's profile, current deck, card levels and recent battle log through the Official Clash Royale API. It combines them with CrownStats' own card-stat dataset (per-level damage, hitpoints and related values, kept current with balance corrections) and, where a tool uses it, CrownStats' aggregated deck statistics from the battles it has collected. Nothing is estimated from a source CrownStats does not have.

Every personal CrownLab result is computed on demand from the recent battles the Clash Royale API currently returns for that player — a recent sample, not a stored career history — so a result can change as new battles are played and older ones leave the log.

CrownLab recommendations, Crown Score and Upgrade Advisor's rankings are CrownStats' own formulas. They are not official Supercell ratings or recommendations, and they are not a measure of a player's raw skill.
