Evolution Advisor
Evolution Advisor
See which Evolution fits the decks you actually play — and which Evolutions you own should be active now.
Pursue next picks the Evolution to unlock next for your decks. Activate now picks which of your unlocked Evolutions to run in your current deck.
What Evolution Advisor does
Evolution Advisor is a CrownLab tool by CrownStats that recommends which Clash Royale Evolution a player should pursue next for the decks they actually play, and which of their unlocked Evolutions should be active in their current deck.
Evolution Advisor answers two questions from one analysis of a player's linked Clash Royale profile. Pursue next: of the Evolutions you haven't unlocked yet, which one fits the decks you play best? Activate now: of the Evolutions you have unlocked, which should be active in the deck you're playing today? Switching between the two answers never re-runs the analysis — both come from the same read of your decks.
Every recommendation is about fit with your own decks — the deck you're playing now, the decks you've saved on CrownStats and your recent battles — not a global tier list. Evolution Advisor never claims an Evolution is the strongest in the game, and it doesn't use popularity, usage rates or win rates. You choose which decks count, and you can exclude up to 20 Evolutions you don't want recommended; an exclusion applies to both answers.
Activate now looks at the Evolutions you've unlocked for cards in your current deck and how many Evolutions the deck can run. When there are more than it can hold, it keeps the ones your recent battles show active, then prefers higher card level, then fewer cycles. Where your battles haven't confirmed a slot, the recommendation says so.
What Evolution Advisor analyses
- The eight cards in the player's current deck, read from the linked Clash Royale profile — completed from a recent battle when the profile lists only seven
- The decks the player has saved on CrownStats, when the chosen decks include them
- The player's collection: which cards they own, which Evolutions they have already unlocked, and each card's level
- Recent Trophy Road and Ranked battles from the player's battle log — which cards were played, and which Evolutions were active
- CrownStats' Evolution dataset: the current Evolutions, the number of cycles each needs, and which of their details have been independently verified
- How many Evolutions the current deck can run at once, including when a Champion or Hero in the deck needs the Wild slot
How CrownStats picks the Evolution to pursue
Pursue next looks at the Evolutions you haven't unlocked yet for cards in the decks you chose, and compares them one step at a time, in the order below. The first step that separates two options decides; a later step only matters when every earlier one is equal. Each recommendation names the step that decided it, so the reasoning can be checked.
- Deck fit — your current deck first, then cards in several saved decks, then one.
- How many of your decks use the card.
- Whether you've played it in a recent Trophy Road or Ranked battle.
- The card's current level.
- How few cycles it needs to evolve.
- If nothing separates the top options, you'll see “No clear pick” instead of a forced winner.
Key terms
- Pursue next
- Evolution Advisor's recommendation of the Evolution to unlock next: of the Evolutions a player hasn't unlocked yet, the one that fits the decks they chose best.
- Activate now
- Evolution Advisor's recommendation of which unlocked Evolutions to run in the current deck, within the number of Evolutions that deck can hold at once.
- Deck fit
- Fit describes where the card shows up in the decks you chose: direct (your current deck), broad (several saved decks) or narrow (one saved deck, or only your recent battles). It says nothing about how strong the Evolution is.
- Recommendation support
- Recommendation support shows how complete the information behind a recommendation is — Strong, Moderate or Limited. It doesn't predict how your battles will go.
- Evolution cycles
- How many times a card has to be cycled in a battle before it evolves. Fewer cycles means the Evolution comes around sooner.
- Evolution slot
- A place in a deck that can hold an active Evolution. A deck can run only a limited number of Evolutions at once, and a Champion or Hero may need the Wild slot.
- No clear pick
- What Evolution Advisor shows when nothing separates the top options: the evenly matched Evolutions, in no particular order, instead of a forced winner.
What Evolution Advisor cannot see
- CrownStats has no access to a player's Evolution Shards, Wild Shards or other resources — the Clash Royale API does not expose them — so Evolution Advisor recommends what fits a player's decks, never whether an Evolution is affordable or how long it would take to unlock.
- It is not a tier list. Evolution Advisor never ranks Evolutions by strength, popularity, usage rate or win rate across the game — a recommendation says which Evolution fits your decks, not which one is best for everyone.
- Recent battle evidence is the recent Trophy Road and Ranked battles the Clash Royale API returns — a sample, not a history. An Evolution only counts as active when a recent battle with your current deck shows it, and when your battles haven't confirmed a slot, the recommendation says so.
- Saved decks are the decks you've saved on CrownStats. Decks you have only built in the game are not visible to CrownStats unless they are your current deck or appear in your recent battles.
- Evolution details come from CrownStats' own Evolution dataset. A detail that hasn't been independently verified is withheld rather than guessed, and when the dataset is due for a review — after an official balance update, for example — the page says so.
- It cannot see anything that happens inside a battle — placement, timing or how you use an Evolution — only which cards were played, and in which form.
Sample size and evidence
Recommendation support — Strong, Moderate or Limited — describes how complete the information behind a recommendation is. It is not a probability or a confidence percentage, and it doesn't predict how your battles will go.
Evolution Advisor is deterministic: the same decks, collection and battles always produce the same answers. Where the information can't support a recommendation, it says what is missing instead of filling the gap.
Where the data comes from
CrownLab reads a player's profile, current deck, card levels and recent battle log through the Official Clash Royale API. It combines them with CrownStats' own card-stat dataset (per-level damage, hitpoints and related values, kept current with balance corrections) and, where a tool uses it, CrownStats' aggregated deck statistics from the battles it has collected. Nothing is estimated from a source CrownStats does not have.
Every personal CrownLab result is computed on demand from the recent battles the Clash Royale API currently returns for that player — a recent sample, not a stored career history — so a result can change as new battles are played and older ones leave the log.
CrownLab recommendations, Crown Score and Upgrade Advisor's rankings are CrownStats' own formulas. They are not official Supercell ratings or recommendations, and they are not a measure of a player's raw skill.
The personal CrownLab tools run on the Clash Royale player tag linked to a signed-in CrownStats account. Interaction Lab needs no account and no tag.
CrownStats is an independent project, built and maintained by one developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Supercell. Clash Royale is a trademark of Supercell.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Evolution should I unlock next in Clash Royale?
Evolution Advisor's Pursue next answer is the Evolution you haven't unlocked yet that fits the decks you actually play best — cards in your current deck first, then cards that appear across several of your saved decks. When two options are level on fit, it looks at how many of your decks use the card, whether you've played it in a recent Trophy Road or Ranked battle, the card's level and how few cycles it needs, in that order.
Which of my Evolutions should I use in my deck?
That is Activate now. It looks at the Evolutions you've unlocked for cards in your current deck and how many Evolutions the deck can run. When there are more than it can hold, it keeps the ones your recent battles show active, then prefers higher card level, then fewer cycles. Where your battles haven't confirmed a slot, the recommendation says so.
Does CrownStats know how many Evolution Shards I have?
No. The Clash Royale API does not expose Evolution Shards, Wild Shards or other resources, and CrownStats does not ask you to enter them. Evolution Advisor recommends what fits your decks, never whether you can afford an Evolution right now.
Is Evolution Advisor a tier list of the best Evolutions?
No. It does not rank Evolutions by strength, popularity or win rate across the game. Every recommendation is about fit with your own decks — the deck you're playing, the decks you've saved on CrownStats and your recent battles — so two players can get different answers, and both can be right.
Why does Evolution Advisor show “No clear pick”?
When nothing separates the top options — the same deck fit, the same number of decks, the same recent use, level and cycles — CrownStats won't force a winner. It lists the evenly matched Evolutions in no particular order and says which steps they were equal on, so you can choose between them yourself.
Which decks does Evolution Advisor look at?
You choose. By default Pursue next considers your current deck, the decks you've saved on CrownStats and your recent battles; you can narrow it to your current deck only or to your saved decks only. Activate now always looks at your current deck, because that is the deck the Evolutions would be active in.
Is the recommendation generated by an AI?
No. Evolution Advisor applies fixed, published rules to your real decks, collection and recent battles and to CrownStats' verified Evolution data. The same information always gives the same answer, and no language model is involved in either recommendation.
