What Crown Coach does

Crown Coach is a CrownLab tool by CrownStats that combines the measured findings from Battle Insights, Upgrade Advisor, Matchup Scout and Rival Tracker into a short, ranked plan of what a Clash Royale player could work on next.

Crown Coach does not generate advice from scratch. It takes the findings CrownStats' other CrownLab tools have already measured for the linked player — form, deck usage, difficult matchups, level pressure, the top upgrade, repeat rivals — and turns each finding with enough evidence into a candidate action. The candidates are scored and ranked; the highest becomes the primary focus, with up to 3 supporting actions.

The plan is deterministic: the same battles, deck and card levels always produce the same plan. An optional "explain my plan" step can ask a language model to rephrase the finished plan in plainer words, but that explanation is checked against the plan and can never change the ranking, add an action, or introduce a number the plan does not contain.

What Crown Coach analyses

  • Current profile
  • Current deck
  • Current card levels
  • Recent battle results
  • Recent decks
  • Opponent cards
  • Opponent archetypes
  • Supported direct interactions
  • CrownStats' global matchup data for the exact current deck, when enough has been collected

How CrownStats builds a Crown Coach plan

  1. Each coaching rule produces at most one candidate action, and only when the underlying tool's own thresholds were met: stay with or review the main deck; prioritise the top upgrade; check a specific card interaction; practise a difficult archetype or review a difficult opponent card; address level pressure; break a losing streak; review a repeat rival; or, when data is sparse, build a larger sample.
  2. Every candidate is scored out of 100. Impact (up to 50) scales with the size of the measured effect behind it; Evidence Strength (up to 30) follows the sample-size label of the finding; Actionability (up to 20) is fixed per action type, higher for concrete next steps such as a specific upgrade or interaction check.
  3. A difficult archetype confirmed by both the personal record and CrownStats' global data for the same deck receives a bonus, because a finding confirmed from two independent sources is stronger than either alone.
  4. Candidates are ranked by total score. The top one is the primary focus; up to 3 more are shown as supporting actions, each with its evidence, its sample size and a link to the CrownLab tool that measured it.
  5. With very little data, the honest top recommendation is to play more games with one deck so the other tools have something to measure — and the plan says so.

Key terms

Primary focus
The highest-scoring candidate action — the one thing the plan suggests addressing first.
Impact
How large the measured effect behind an action is — for example the win-rate gap between the main deck and other decks, or the strongest current-deck upgrade case.
Evidence strength
A sample-size label carried over from the tool that produced the finding — very small, low, moderate or stronger. It describes how much data sits behind an action, not certainty.
Actionability
A fixed score per action type describing how concrete the recommended next step is.
Plan explanation
An optional, separately requested plain-language rewrite of the plan. It is generated by a language model, validated so that every number and action it mentions already exists in the plan, and discarded entirely if that check fails.

What Crown Coach cannot see

  • Crown Coach cannot see every placement, prediction, elixir decision or timing mistake that happened inside a battle. A card placed one tile differently or played half a second earlier can completely change a match. The coach uses statistics to show you where to look next — not to judge your skill.
  • It inherits every limitation of the tools it combines: the recent-battle-log sample, the current-deck-only upgrade scope, and the observation minimums for global matchup data.
  • It is not a chatbot and does not answer free-form questions. The optional explanation can only restate the deterministic plan.
  • It does not watch gameplay, replays or in-game actions, and it does not predict results from following the plan.

Sample size and evidence

Every action shows the sample it rests on, or states that it is deterministic — an upgrade recommendation has no battle sample, so none is invented. The coverage panel states how many battles were received and analysed, whether a deck was available, and whether global matchup data was available.

Where the data comes from

CrownLab reads a player's profile, current deck, card levels and recent battle log through the Official Clash Royale API. It combines them with CrownStats' own card-stat dataset (per-level damage, hitpoints and related values, kept current with balance corrections) and, where a tool uses it, CrownStats' aggregated deck statistics from the battles it has collected. Nothing is estimated from a source CrownStats does not have.

Every personal CrownLab result is computed on demand from the recent battles the Clash Royale API currently returns for that player — a recent sample, not a stored career history — so a result can change as new battles are played and older ones leave the log.

CrownLab recommendations, Crown Score and Upgrade Advisor's rankings are CrownStats' own formulas. They are not official Supercell ratings or recommendations, and they are not a measure of a player's raw skill.

The personal CrownLab tools run on the Clash Royale player tag linked to a signed-in CrownStats account. Interaction Lab needs no account and no tag.

CrownStats is an independent project, built and maintained by one developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Supercell. Clash Royale is a trademark of Supercell.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I work on next in Clash Royale?

Crown Coach's answer is its primary focus: the measured finding from your recent battles, deck and card levels that scores highest on impact, evidence and actionability. It might be staying with your main deck for a larger sample, prioritising one upgrade, practising one archetype, or simply playing more games with one deck when there is not yet enough data. Each action links to the tool that measured it.

What does Crown Coach analyse?

Your current profile, current deck and card levels, recent 1v1 battle results, the decks you used recently, the opponent cards and archetypes you faced, the direct card interactions CrownStats supports, and — when enough has been collected — CrownStats' global matchup data for your exact deck. All of it comes from the other CrownLab tools' own analyses.

Is Crown Coach an AI chatbot?

No. The plan is produced by fixed rules over the findings CrownStats' other tools measured, and the same inputs always give the same plan. There is an optional explanation step that asks a language model to rephrase the finished plan, but it cannot change, re-rank or add to it, and CrownStats rejects the explanation if it mentions any number or action the plan does not contain.

Can Crown Coach see my in-game decisions?

No. The Clash Royale API provides results, decks and card levels, not gameplay. Crown Coach never sees card placement, exact timing, prediction decisions, real-time elixir choices or any other in-battle decision-making, and it does not claim to.

How can I improve at Clash Royale using Crown Coach?

Treat the primary focus as the one measurable thing to address first, play a handful of games with that in mind, then regenerate the plan. Because the plan is built from your recent battles, the findings — and therefore the focus — change as your results change. It shows where the data points; the plays are still yours.

Why does my plan only say to play more games?

When too few recent 1v1 battles are available, none of the other coaching rules can fire honestly, so the only well-supported action is to build a larger sample with one deck. That is deliberate: Crown Coach does not invent a focus from data it does not have.
