What is the CrownStats Merge Tactics Team Comparison?
Team Comparison places two Clash Royale Merge Tactics teams side by side and shows how they differ. Team A and Team B each have their own Ruler, troop slots and Equipment, and CrownStats lays out their Rulers, team capacity, Trait contributions and slot-by-slot lineups next to each other so the differences are easy to read.
Both teams are evaluated using the same CrownStats Merge Tactics rules, including Equipment Trait effects and team capacity — the same Build Intelligence the Team Builder uses. The result is a factual description of two teams, not a verdict on which one to play.
What CrownStats compares
- Ruler — which Ruler each team uses, and the team capacity that Ruler sets.
- Capacity — how many of each team's slots are filled against its maximum team size.
- Troop slots — every slot position by position, keeping slot order and duplicate troops exactly as they were built.
- Equipment — the piece assigned to each slot, including Trait-overriding pieces such as Clan Horn.
- Trait contributions — how many unique troops contribute to each Trait on each team, after Equipment Trait effects are applied.
- Verified Trait breakpoints — the active tier of each verified Trait on each side, and whether those tiers differ.
- Warnings — a missing Ruler, open or exceeded team slots, duplicate troop selections, or Equipment that is no longer available.
What Team Comparison does not do
Team Comparison describes two teams; it does not judge them. It does not choose a winner, does not score or rank either team, and does not predict how a match between them would go. It also never states a Trait tier for a Trait whose current activation thresholds CrownStats has not verified — for those Traits it shows contributor counts only. Which team to play remains your decision, made with the facts laid out side by side.
Trait verification in Team Comparison
CrownStats only shows a verified Trait tier when it has a current, dated confirmation of that Trait's activation thresholds — right now that applies to Clan, Undead and Rider. For those Traits, Team Comparison shows each team's active tier and flags where the two tiers differ.
Other current Traits are compared by contributor count only: Team Comparison shows how many unique troops contribute to the Trait on each side, without claiming an exact tier. Traits that are no longer part of the current season are not presented as current breakpoints. This distinction changes as CrownStats verifies more Traits; it is not a fixed list.
How Team Comparison works
- Build Team A and Team B on this page, or arrive with a team already filled in from the Team Builder's "Compare this team" link or a Trait Planner route's "Compare result" link.
- Each team is normalized the same way the Team Builder normalizes a build: slot order and duplicate troops are kept, the lineup is capped at its Ruler's real capacity, and Equipment stays attached to its slot.
- Equipment Trait effects are applied and each Trait's unique contributors are counted for both teams under the same rules.
- Verified Trait tiers are compared only where current threshold data is verified; every other Trait is compared by contributor count.
- Review the side-by-side result, swap the two teams, or copy the comparison link — both teams travel in the page URL, so a link reopens exactly the comparison you built.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Team Comparison pick a winner?
No — Team Comparison shows how two Merge Tactics teams differ in Rulers, troops, Equipment, capacity and Trait contributions. It does not score either team, declare a winner or predict the result of a match; both teams are described under the same rules and the decision stays with you.
Which Traits show verified breakpoint differences?
CrownStats only compares exact Trait tiers for a Trait once it has a current, dated confirmation of that Trait's activation thresholds — right now that applies to Clan, Undead and Rider. Every other current Trait is compared by contributor count, and this list changes as CrownStats verifies more Traits.
Can I compare a team from the Team Builder or the Trait Planner?
Yes — the Team Builder's "Compare this team" link opens Team Comparison with your current build as Team A, and a Trait Planner route's "Compare result" link opens it with your current team as Team A and the team that route produces as Team B.
Can I share a comparison?
Yes — both teams are stored in the page URL, so copying the comparison link reopens the same two teams for anyone. The clean Team Comparison page stays the one canonical, indexable entity regardless of which teams a link carries.
Why does a Trait show contributor counts but no tier?
Because CrownStats has not yet verified that Trait's current activation thresholds. Team Comparison still shows how many unique troops contribute to it on each side, but it will not present an unverified tier as a confirmed fact.
