Merge Tactics Trait Planner

Choose a verified Trait and target tier. CrownStats checks troop additions, Equipment changes and troop swaps that reach it from your current team, then shows any verified trade-offs before you apply a change.

Choose a Trait and verified target breakpoint. CrownStats checks whether your current team can reach it with one change.

Current Team

No current team loaded.

Start with a team in the Team Builder, or use the empty team to explore single-change routes — an empty team cannot reach most higher breakpoints in one action.

Each route is calculated independently from your current team.

Exact breakpoint routes are shown only for currently verified Trait thresholds.

What is the CrownStats Merge Tactics Trait Planner?

The Trait Planner starts from your current Merge Tactics team — the same Ruler, troops and Equipment the Team Builder already tracks. You choose a Trait and a real verified breakpoint, and CrownStats checks canonical changes to your team that reach that target. Where the Team Builder answers what your current team contains and how it behaves, the Trait Planner answers a more specific question: how can this team reach a particular verified Trait breakpoint?

Exact route planning only applies to a Trait whose current activation thresholds are sufficiently verified — see "What does a verified Trait breakpoint mean?" below.

What changes can the Trait Planner check?

CrownStats checks single-change routes first: a troop addition where team capacity permits, changing or removing a Trait-overriding Equipment piece, or a troop swap that replaces one troop while keeping that slot's Equipment in place. A Trait-overriding piece such as Clan Horn changes a troop's effective Trait for planning purposes, using the same replace behavior the rest of CrownStats already applies.

If no single change reaches the target, you can ask CrownStats to check routes using up to two changes. This bounded search chains exactly two canonical changes — never an arbitrary number of steps — and only runs when you request it.

One-change and two-change routes

CrownStats checks single-change routes first. If one change reaches the selected verified Trait breakpoint, the Trait Planner returns those routes automatically. If no single change is enough, you can explicitly ask CrownStats to check combinations of up to two changes — the two-change search evaluates substantially more combinations than a single-change check, so CrownStats only runs it after you ask, rather than on every team or Trait change.

How two-change routes are evaluated

A two-change route can include a first action that does not activate a verified Trait tier by itself. For example, adding one Clan troop may not activate Clan yet, but adding a second unique Clan contributor afterward can reach the next verified breakpoint. CrownStats evaluates the final team after both changes rather than requiring every individual step to independently activate a Trait.

For a two-change route, CrownStats compares your original team with the final team after both changes — never an intermediate state — to determine the final verified gains, verified losses and unverified contributor changes. This prevents a temporary effect partway through a route from being misrepresented as the final result.

What does a verified Trait breakpoint mean?

CrownStats only plans an exact route to a Trait tier when it has a current, dated confirmation of that Trait's activation thresholds — right now that applies to Clan, Undead and Rider. CrownStats uses distinct troop identities for verified Trait activation where duplicate-count behavior is not sufficiently documented — a conservative CrownStats methodology choice, not a confirmed Supercell rule.

Exact current breakpoint planning is not shown until a Trait's threshold is sufficiently verified. A Trait in this state may still show contributor counts elsewhere in CrownStats — this is not a data error, only a distinction between what CrownStats can count and what it can state as an exact verified tier.

How does CrownStats handle Trait trade-offs?

A route remains visible even when the target Trait reaches the selected breakpoint but another verified Trait decreases or becomes inactive as a result. CrownStats labels this a trade-off and shows the loss alongside the gain, rather than hiding it.

Limitations

The Trait Planner analyzes verified Trait structure. It does not currently predict battle win rate or claim that one route produces the strongest overall team — only that a specific change, or pair of changes, activates, advances or loses a verified Trait tier. Two-change search is bounded at exactly two changes; it does not search beyond that.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Merge Tactics Trait Planner?

The CrownStats Merge Tactics Trait Planner helps you reach a verified Trait breakpoint from your current team. Choose a Trait and a real target tier, and CrownStats checks single-change routes automatically, with an optional check for routes using up to two changes.

Which Traits can CrownStats plan exact breakpoints for?

CrownStats only plans exact breakpoint routes for a Trait once it has a current, dated confirmation of that Trait's activation thresholds — right now that applies to Clan, Undead and Rider. This list changes as CrownStats verifies more Traits, not a fixed set.

Can CrownStats show how to reach Rider Tier 4?

Yes, when Rider is a currently verified Trait and Tier 4 is one of its real published thresholds — select Rider and Tier 4 in the Trait Planner to see any single-change routes, or check up to two changes if none exist.

What if one change is not enough?

If no single troop addition, Equipment change or troop swap reaches the target, you can ask the Trait Planner to check routes using up to two changes. This is optional and only runs when you explicitly request it.

Can Equipment help activate a Trait?

Yes — a Trait-overriding Equipment piece such as Clan Horn changes a troop's effective Trait for planning purposes, and the Trait Planner includes Equipment changes among the routes it checks.

Does the Trait Planner calculate the strongest team?

No — the Trait Planner analyzes verified Trait structure rather than predicting battle win rate or combat strength. It shows routes that reach a specific verified breakpoint, including any trade-offs, not a claim that one route produces the strongest overall team.

Why are some Trait breakpoints unavailable?

Exact breakpoint planning is only shown once a Trait's current activation thresholds are sufficiently verified. Other Traits may still show contributor counts elsewhere in CrownStats, but the Trait Planner will not present an unverified breakpoint as a confirmed fact.
